Accept payments with Flutterwave
To accept payments across Africa on Aviy invoices with Flutterwave, you create a Flutterwave business account, complete their compliance checks, copy your secret key, and paste it into Aviy’s Payments page. Clients pay by card, mobile money, or bank; settlements go to your own account - Aviy takes no fee.
Availability: Available to businesses in 15+ African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Cameroon, Senegal, and Egypt. See all countries
What you’ll need
- A business in a supported African country
- Director/owner ID and business registration documents for compliance
- A settlement bank account (or mobile money wallet in some markets)
Part 1
Set up your Flutterwave account
- 1
Create your Flutterwave account
Go to flutterwave.com and click "Create account" (dashboard.flutterwave.com/signup). Enter your name, email, country, and business name.
- 2
Complete compliance
In the dashboard, open Settings → Compliance and submit your business details, registration documents, and a director’s ID. Unregistered businesses can start in some markets with personal documents and lower limits.
- 3
Add your settlement account
Under Settings → Settlements, add the bank account (or supported wallet) where Flutterwave should pay you out.
- 4
Copy your secret key
Once approved for live mode, go to Settings → API Keys and copy the Secret key (it starts with FLWSECK-). Keep it private.
Part 2
Link it to Aviy
- 5
Open Payments in Aviy
Log in to Aviy, go to Dashboard → Payments, and select the Flutterwave tab.
- 6
Paste your secret key
Paste the FLWSECK- key and click Connect. Aviy validates it live against Flutterwave, then stores it encrypted (AES-256). You can disconnect - which deletes the key - at any time.
- 7
You’re live
You are redirected back to Aviy and the pane shows "Connected". From now on, every invoice you share includes a one-tap pay button for this provider, and Aviy marks invoices paid automatically when the money lands.
Frequently asked questions
What does Flutterwave charge?
Typically 1.4% for local cards and 3.8% for international cards in Nigeria, with different rates per country and method. Aviy adds nothing on top.
Which payment methods can clients use?
Cards, bank accounts, mobile money (M-Pesa, MTN, Airtel and more), USSD, and bank transfer - depending on country and what your account has enabled.
Can I accept USD with Flutterwave?
Yes - Flutterwave supports multi-currency collections including USD in many markets. Enable the currencies you need in your Flutterwave dashboard.
Is my secret key safe with Aviy?
Yes. It is validated once, then stored AES-256-encrypted and used only to create and verify payments for your invoices. Disconnecting deletes it.
Ready to get paid?
Create your first invoice free - then connect Flutterwave from Dashboard → Payments and every invoice carries a pay button.
