How the Payment Due Date Calculator works

Formula
Due date = Invoice date + Payment terms (days)

Payment terms set when an invoice must be paid, counted in calendar days from the invoice date. “Net 30” means 30 days; net 15, 60 and 90 work the same way. Shorter terms get you paid faster, which is why many freelancers use net 14 or net 30 rather than the net 60 large companies often prefer.

This calculator adds your terms to the issue date to give the exact due date and how far away it is, so you can set a clear deadline on every invoice and chase overdue accounts on time.

Frequently asked questions

What does net 30 mean?

Net 30 means payment is due 30 days after the invoice date. Net 15/60/90 work the same way with 15, 60, or 90 days.

Do due dates count calendar or business days?

Standard net terms count calendar days, which is what this tool uses. If your contract specifies business days, add for weekends and holidays.
