How the Salary to Hourly Rate Calculator works
Converting a salary to an hourly rate tells you what your time is really worth and makes it easy to compare a job offer with freelance or contract work. Divide the annual salary by the total hours you work in a year — hours per week times weeks per year — to get the hourly figure.
For a truer number, subtract your paid holiday and public holidays from the 52 weeks, since you are paid a salary for those but do not work them. Remember, too, that benefits and pension add value on top of the base hourly rate this shows.

How do I convert salary to hourly?
Divide the annual salary by the total hours worked in a year (hours per week × weeks per year). A $60,000 salary at 40 hours × 52 weeks is about $28.85/hr.
Should I use 52 weeks?
Use 52 for a simple gross figure, or subtract your paid holiday and public holidays for a truer hourly value of your working time.
Does this include benefits?
No — it converts base salary only. Employer benefits, pension and paid leave add value on top of the hourly figure.
