Timesheet / Time Card Calculator
Enter your start time, end time, break, and (optionally) your hourly rate to get hours worked and pay.
How to use this calculator
- 1Enter your start and end time (overnight shifts are handled automatically).
- 2Enter your unpaid break in minutes.
- 3Add an hourly rate to also see the pay for the shift.
How the Timesheet / Time Card Calculator works
A time card turns clock-in and clock-out times into the hours you actually worked, once unpaid breaks are removed. It is the basis for billing clients by the hour and for paying hourly staff correctly — small rounding errors add up quickly across a month.
This calculator subtracts your break, handles shifts that run past midnight, and — if you enter a rate — multiplies the hours by it to show the pay for the shift. Take the total straight into an itemised invoice with Aviy.

How do I calculate hours worked?
Subtract the start time from the end time, then subtract the unpaid break. This tool does it and converts the result to decimal hours.
Does it handle overnight shifts?
Yes — if the end time is earlier than the start time, it assumes the shift crossed midnight and adds 24 hours.
Can I bill a client from this?
Yes — take the hours (and pay) and create an itemised invoice in seconds with Aviy’s free invoice generator.
